CBS has announced the release dates for Star Trek: Discovery.

The latest Star Trek spinoff is set ten years before the original series took place.

Discovery’s initial release will occur on September 24.

The show’s first two episodes will immediately be available for streaming.

Following that, new episodes will be available to CBS All Access subscribers on Sundays.

The first eight episodes will be released between September 24 and November 5.

After that, the second half of the season, which is made up of seven episodes, will be released starting sometime in January.

Star Trek: Discovery Trailer Released By CBS

CBS has released a trailer for their upcoming show Star TrekDiscovery. The show had a lot of issues getting off the ground but is now scheduled for this fall. It is set ten years before the original Star Trek series.

Previously, they had announced Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca of The Discovery, but it does not appear that such is the case from the trailer, which never even shows him. Instead, the trailer shows us Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou and mentor of Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green).

The trailer also makes it seem like Burnham is the main character, of the show. We’re also clearly going to have some issues with the Klingons, in this series.

A curious part in the trailer has Sarek (James Frain), Spock’s father, telling Burnham that her “tongue is too human”. Does this mean she’s part Vulcan, was she simply raised on Vulcan, or was he just making a blunt comment to a human student?

Discovery also stars Doug Jones as science officer Saru, Anthony Rapp as fellow science officer Stamets, Terry Serpico as Starfleet Admiral Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as chief medical officer Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as junior Starfleet officer Connor, Mary Wiseman as Cadet Tilly, Chris Obi as Klingon leader T’Kuvma, Mary Chieffo as L’Rell a Klingon commander, Shazad Latif as Lieutenant Tyler, Rekha Sharma as Commander Landry, Kenneth Mitchell as Kol, Clare McConnell as Dennas, Damon Runyan as Ujilli, and Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd.

Jason Isaacs Cast as The Captain of Star Trek Discovery

Jason Isaacs has been cast as the captain of Star Trek Discovery.

He will be playing Captain Lorca on the CBS All Access show, which will also be airing on Netflix.

Isaacs is possibly most well known for his role in Harry Potter as Lucius Malfoy.

Most recently, he was on Neftlix’s The OA.

Discovery is set before Star Trek the original series, with Spock’s father Sarek (played by James Frain) being involved.

The show was initially supposed to launch in January 2017, but has faced several delays.

IMDB already has thirteen episodes listed as filmed, but with Michelle Yeoh listed as Captain Georgiou.

It is unclear if Captain Lorca is a replacement for Georgiou, a complete recast, or what exactly is going on.

Currently, CBS hopes to have the show out for the fall.

Second Preview: Star Trek: Into Darkness

Star Trek fans at least get a teaser now, as the first teaser for Into Darkness has been released.

The Enterprise returns to Earth only to find it in chaos as an evil force has risen from the ranks of Starfleet, and only they can stop him.

From the teaser it looks like at least some of the battle will take place on Earth, though hopefully Earth won’t suffer the same fate as Vulcan did in the first movie.

Other than that, not a lot is known.

We can confirm that most, if not all, of the main characters will return with the same actors playing them.

Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the villain, and it’s rumored to be someone named Khan.

If you wish to see more, beginning on December 14, you can see the entire first nine minutes of the film.

All you have to do is go see a movie at one of five hundred IMAX 3D screens.

Star Trek: Into Darkness hits theaters May 17, 2013.
